Location: City of Edinburgh

Early Years Officer

Position at Oxgangs Primary School, a non‑denominational school serving the Colinton Mains, Craiglockhart and Firrhill areas of South Edinburgh.

Salary: £34,452 – £40,501 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional).

Hours:

28 per week, 39 week sessional.

Working pattern for the position:
Monday, Tuesday: 7.45am–4.15pm, Thursday: 7.45am–15.45pm, Friday: 7.45am–12.15pm.

We require an Early Years Officer to join our nursery team. In our nursery we provide early years childcare for pupils aged 2 to 5 years. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a solution‑focused and nurturing approach and a genuine desire to improve outcomes for identified individuals in our nursery.

The successful candidate will contribute towards the creation of a caring and stimulating environment for young children and their parents/carers.

Requirements and Pre‑employment Checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Applicants must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Your successful application will be subject to the outcome of both pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
