Location: City of Edinburgh

Pupil Support Assistant (Well Being) – James Gillespie's High School

Salary: £26,806-£27,032 (pro‑rate for part‑time and sessional).

Hours:

30 per week, 39 week sessional.

We are seeking to recruit a permanent Pupil Support Assistant (Well Being). They will be energetic and enthusiastic and have demonstrated contributions to department and whole school activities in previous posts.

This post will be based at one of our two campuses, Warrender Park Road or Gillespie Street.

As Edinburgh's Gaelic high school, spoken/written Gaelic and an understanding of Gaelic culture would be advantageous.

Pre‑employment requirements:

  • Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
  • An unconditional offer and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
