Salary: £26,806-£27,032 (pro-rate for part-time and sessional)

Hours:

30 per week, 39 week sessional

About the School

James Gillespie’s High School / Ard-Sgoil Sheumais Ghilleasbuig is a fully comprehensive high school located in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh. The school values are Respect, Kindness, Integrity, Inclusion and High Expectations.

Position Overview

This permanent position is based at one of our two campuses, Warrender Park Road or Gillespie Street. As Edinburgh’s Gaelic high school, spoken/written Gaelic and an understanding of Gaelic culture would be advantageous.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, with demonstrated contributions to department and whole school activities in previous posts.

We are recruiting for regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

A conditional offer will be subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. We are happy to talk flexible working.
