Pupil Support Assistant – Balerno Community High School

Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro rata for part‑time and sessional)

Hours:

27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Balerno Community High School is a six‑year comprehensive that serves the districts of Balerno, Ratho and Kirknewton, with strong linkages to associated primary schools. The school has an excellent academic reputation and a vibrant extracurricular and enrichment programme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support pupils within the classroom as part of the Support for Learning team. Your role will involve:

  • Assisting and encouraging students to maximise attainment and support for all pupils.
  • Working with a high‑achieving department and other teams of staff dedicated to providing the best for all young people.
  • Committing to further raising the attainment and achievement of all pupils.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Enthusiastic and committed to raising attainment.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within the Support for Learning team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures; PVG Scheme or recent update check required, and an overseas criminal record check if applicable.
