Senior Pupil Support Officer

Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional)

Hours:

30 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working pattern:
Monday to Friday

Overview

Kaimes School is a secondary special school located in the southeast of the City of Edinburgh, catering for 96 young people, many of whom have a diagnosis of Autism and other additional support needs. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Pupil Support Officer who shares our commitment to relationships, inclusion and high‑quality care and learning for every learner.

Responsibilities
  • Train, mentor and induct pupil support staff.
  • Support GIRFEC processes.
  • Liaise with families.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a highly supportive staff team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
Qualifications
  • Desirable:
    Experience working with young people with complex additional needs.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a current Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 check.
  • If spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, must provide an overseas criminal record check.
