Senior Pupil Support Officer

Oaklands Special School

Salary: £34,452 – £40,501 (pro‑rated for part‑time and sessional)

Hours:

25 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Oaklands is a special school for nursery, primary and secondary age pupils. The school meets the needs of learners with complex medical needs and long‑term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with children and families as they transition from school to adult services.
  • Liaise with external organisations to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Contribute to the training and mentoring of new support staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and families with learning disabilities is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Required to have a current Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check or an update, and for those who spent 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years to provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
