Salary and Hours

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro‑rated for part‑time and sessional)

Hours:

29.17 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Overview

Bun‑sgoil Taobh na Pàirce is Edinburgh’s Gaelic‑medium primary school, offering primary education and nursery provision for children in the City of Edinburgh and the Lothians. The school opened in August 2013 and has experienced steady growth, especially at early and first level. The aim is to develop Gaelic language competence using an immersion approach for learners who typically start with little or no Gaelic.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medication and support learners with health care needs such as asthma and diabetes.
  • Assist with classroom activities, helping children to use Gaelic in learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration and health observations.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Fluency in Gaelic is required.
  • Willingness to obtain a first aid qualification is desirable.
  • Compliance with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – required to join the PVG Scheme or obtain an updated check.
  • For candidates who have spent three months or more outside the UK in the last five years, an overseas criminal record check is required.
