Salary: £26,806‑£27,032 (pro rata for part‑time and sessional)
Hours:
27 hrs or 25 hrs per week, term‑time only (39 weeks per year)
Contract:
Perm & Fixed Term Contract – FTCs will end April 2027/June 2027
- Support individuals and pupil groups in the school setting.
- Work as part of a team to provide assistance to children in an educational context.
- Develop effective positive relationships with children at various stages within a primary school.
- Receive training and support to work with children and young people.
- Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Experience in supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs (preferred).
- Enthusiastic, conscientious, committed with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This post is considered regulated work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Living WageThe City of Edinburgh Council applies a living wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £9.34 per hour. Successful applicants will receive their hourly rate for the role, plus the allowance, to bring their earnings to £9.34 per hour.
