The OpportunityEdinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) has developed an ambitious and inventive suite of interdisciplinary, Undergraduate courses which will run in the 2026-27 academic session. The courses are highly interdisciplinary and aim to educate students for complex futures in which computational data, critical understanding and creative methods are essential to employability and the ability to take a confident place in the world. You should be committed to EFI’s innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and keen to become part of our forward-thinking, cross‑University academic community.
ResponsibilitiesThis role will generally involve contributing to elements of teaching within a clear and established programme. A key purpose of the role is to stimulate discussion and debate amongst students in order to further the understanding of key course topics, and to assist students in extracting key learning outcomes from the course material.
- Supporting the Course Organiser with initial classroom configuration and set‑up.
- Guiding and moderating online or in‑class discussions on learning technology platforms by welcoming students, managing breakout sessions, monitoring student questions, and solving basic technical issues.
- Supporting the administration of classes including the support of student tutorials, creating events on learning technology platforms, and starting/stopping session recordings.
Our ideal candidates will have a sufficient understanding of the topics under discussion in the courses and programmes they are interested in working on, or data analysis knowledge and skills for our skills and methods courses.
