The Quality Team at SRUC works to ensure our Further, Higher and Postgraduate Education provision meets high academic standards and regulatory requirements. The team support staff across all campuses by coordinating quality processes, managing programme validations and verification/moderation activity, and providing guidance on academic regulations and assessment. By working closely with awarding bodies, PSRBs and academic teams, we help maintain compliance, enhance the student experience, and uphold the quality and integrity of SRUC's educational offering.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Quality Lead to provide institutional leadership, oversight, and expert guidance on quality assurance across our Higher, Further and Postgraduate Education provision. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring robust quality assurance frameworks that safeguard academic standards, enhance the student experience, and maintain compliance with external regulatory and funding requirements. The postholder will play a key role in shaping and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key
Responsibilities include;
Lead and deliver the institutional QA strategy Oversee and improve QA policies, procedures, and the Education Manual. Lead programme validation, revalidation, and external audits Manage relationships with awarding bodies, PSRBs and partner universities. Prepare reports for academic committees and monitor actions and KPI performance. Provide expert advice on academic regulations, appeals, and misconduct. Work collaboratively with academic teams and stakeholders to embed QA and QE.
Support and guide Quality staff and deputise for the Registrar when required. Please read the Job Particulars document for full details of the requirements for this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF Level 10 or have a relevant professional qualification. A quality assurance or teaching qualification is desirable. Eligibility for Sponsorship:
