Overview

2 x 24 Hour Positions Available

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 5pm.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 5pm.

You may already be working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Worker or within education, health and social care, supporting young people with additional learning needs. Equally, you could have experience from another setting where you've supported individuals to overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their potential, and are looking to bring those transferable skills into education.

You are patient, compassionate and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships while encouraging students to become as independent as possible. You thrive in a varied role, enjoy working as part of a supportive team and understand the importance of creating an inclusive environment where every learner feels valued and able to succeed.

At Bishop Burton College, you'll become part of a dedicated Student Support team committed to helping learners achieve their ambitions, whatever challenges they may face. Working across our outstanding land-based and specialist curriculum areas, no two days are the same. Responsibilities
  • Support learners with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom
  • Build positive relationships and encourage student independence
  • Contribute to an inclusive environment where every learner feels valued
  • Collaborate with the Student Support team and other staff across curriculum areas
Qualifications and Requirements

Previous experience in learning support or related education/health and social care roles is desirable. The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate patience, compassion and resilience
  • Be able to work as part of a team and support diverse learners
  • Meet safeguarding and welfare obligations; disclose any criminal convictions; be prepared for DBS checks where applicable
