About the College

Welcome to Calman College, a Specialist Independent 16‑25 college providing further education for autistic young adults with additional learning disabilities and complex needs. We benefit from a large 20 acre site with a functional learning hub with catering, horticulture, creative arts and animal husbandry provision. We offer a range of bespoke programmes for learners at our campus in Thorney, near Peterborough.

About You

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Role Overview

  • Build strong and meaningful relationships with our students, adapting to each student’s way of learning.
  • Support the Class Tutor and work together to review the progress of each student.
  • Assist in implementing programmes devised by a multidisciplinary team, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Educational Psychologists from our integrated clinical services.
  • Support access to curriculum and vocational work with the students to ensure positive outcomes in line with their personal targets.
  • Contribute to the development of the students through the provision of a healthy lifestyle and a variety of appropriate stimulating activities.
  • Support students to develop their communication skills using methods appropriate to their abilities.
  • Enable work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and in the local community.
Working Week

This role is Monday to Friday during term time.
