1x 1 FTE 36 hours a week over 52 weeks a year - £40,972 - £49,191 per annum

1x 0.5 FTE 18 hours a week over 52 weeks a year - £20,486 - £24,595 per annum

The ESOL, English and maths Team at Carshalton & Merton Colleges, part of the South Thames Colleges Group, is looking to appoint a Lecturer in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills to students aged 16‑19.
  • Prepare students for exams, mark homework and mock exams, provide constructive feedback.
  • Set targets for students, monitor attendance and progress.
  • Develop curriculum where appropriate.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject.
  • Excellent teaching skills in GCSE English and Functional Skills English.
  • High personal standards and expectations, with awareness of academic quality standards.
  • Ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners and monitor their progress.
