Primary Teacher – Supply – Various Areas within Highland Council.

Salary: £33,000 – £50,000 pro rata.

Teachers who register for supply teaching may be asked to provide both short and advance notice teaching in local schools. Supply periods can range from one day to several weeks or months, depending on the absence to be covered. Availability of one day a week or at particular times of the year is accepted.

We welcome applications from teachers who are not currently working or have not worked for some years. Training will be provided locally for those who feel it would be beneficial. Applicants can be based outside Highland and may be available to work in Highland schools.

Applications from Gaelic speakers are encouraged.

This position is classified as a regulated role. Prior to appointment, successful candidates must become members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. An Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required, depending on nationality and residency history.

PVG scheme membership and necessary criminal record checks will be obtained by the successful candidate. Associated costs are the candidate's responsibility.

Requirements

GTCS registration is essential.

Mandatory Documentation

Must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries:
Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
Must not have lived or worked in any country outside the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, aged 18 or over, within the past five years.
