Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Working within a specialist educational environment, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience every day.

About the Role As part of our team, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to overcome barriers to learning and encouraging positive outcomes. Higher Level Teaching Assistants will be supporting teachers in the classroom, plus taking on additional responsibilities, including leading learning activities and providing enhanced support to both staff and pupils.

Taking children on trips and visits will also play a part, as will having lunch with children who struggle socially. What We're Looking For A genuine passion for supporting children and young people. Good communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. A patient, flexible, and resilient approach. Previous experience in the role The confidence and ability to lead learning activities and support teaching and learning at a higher level.

Strong organisational skills and experience supporting a range of pupil needs.

What We Offer Competitive salary of £26,810 with the potential covering of lunchtime supervisor role £1,787 Term-time only working (37.5 hours per week), providing additional annual leave during school holidays. Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning through classroom support, small group work, and one-to-one interventions, helping pupils achieve their individual learning goals. Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, contributing to personalised learning plans and supporting positive educational, social, and emotional outcomes. Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to develop engaging, differentiated learning experiences and maintain effective learning resources and classroom environments.

Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour by creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. Contribute to the wider school community through professional development, teamwork, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.
