Overview

Renewable energy is Scotland's main source of electricity and Ocean Winds is playing a leading role in tackling climate change. Whether you have already started your journey in the green energy industry or have aspirations to move into the sector, Ocean Winds has an opportunity for a Settlement and Reporting Specialist in our Commercial Asset Management Team to help manage its expanding offshore windfarm portfolio in Scotland.

Specifically, the operational 950MW Moray East Offshore Windfarm and the under‑construction 860MW Moray West Offshore Windfarm.

Responsibilities
  • Managing timely settlement processes related to our offshore wind projects, including PPAs and CFDs.
  • Monitoring and reporting of all revenue streams.
  • Preparation of project processes for commercial asset management.
  • Supporting the Asset Director in delivering budgets and business plans.
  • Working with the Operations and Asset Management teams to deliver asset value.
  • Providing wider Commercial Asset Management support for Ocean Winds development pipeline.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders (IMServe, Elexon, PPA Offtakers, LCCC) to oversee daily settlement operations for offshore wind energy transactions and ensure timely reconciliation.
  • Validating invoices and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensuring that all data flows and forecasts from the asset necessary to support commercial operations are maintained.
  • Ensuring the settlement process is understood by stakeholders and executed correctly in management systems.
  • Analyzing settlement data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Preparing regular reports for management and stakeholders and providing input data for commercially related key performance indicators and reporting metrics.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing automated settlement solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for commercial asset management activities.
  • Assisting in audits and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Creating effective external working relationships with key stakeholders involved in the provision of PPAs, investment contracts, CFDs, and other related commercial contracts.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a STEM subject.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Data analysis and reporting in the energy sector.
    • Trading/contract settlement in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in the following areas:
    • The UK electricity market processes including energy settlement.
    • The UK CfD regime and PPA contract market.
    • Capacity market, ancillary services and REGOs (desirable).
    • Key industry frameworks such as BSC and CUSC (desirable).
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to manage large data sets and present information in a clear and professional manner with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software, PowerBI and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of commercial activities and processes with a proactive approach to value creation and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business and build effective external relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Language

The business has an international team of employees and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. Proficiency in other languages will be valued.

Location

Location in Edinburgh with possibility of flexible working arrangements and travel to operational sites and other stakeholders’ offices required from time to time.
