Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: City of Edinburgh

The role

You will work closely with small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) to identify energy‑saving opportunities that deliver carbon and cost savings. You will provide support to help SMEs overcome barriers to the installation of low‑carbon technologies (e.g. heat pumps and heat‑pump enabling measures such as building fabric insulation). You will also provide advice and support on a wider range of technologies, helping businesses save energy and reduce their energy bills through 1‑2‑1 conversations, in‑person events, online webinar training and desktop reviews of technical specifications.

You will be a central part of delivering effective, high‑quality advice and support to enable the installation of energy‑efficiency, low‑carbon heat and renewables projects, making SMEs more competitive and helping them on their journey towards Net Zero.

What You Will Do
  • Actively engage with SMEs to understand their specific energy‑related opportunities and challenges and establish the most appropriate level of support.
  • Liaise with SMEs and contracted energy consultants to secure the technical information necessary to complete an energy‑efficiency assessment.
  • Help the SME with any queries they may have on their bespoke energy‑assessment report and the recommended measures it contains.
  • Identify barriers to the installation of measures and help resolve these, including enabling access to the Scottish Government SME Loan Scheme.
What You Will Bring
  • Demonstrable experience of energy efficiency, low‑carbon heating and renewable technologies in buildings.
  • Proven experience of delivering a high standard of customer service and the ability to explain complex information in a straightforward, accessible way.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
Benefits
  • Generous holiday (25 days + bank holidays + extra Christmas leave)
  • True flexibility in how and where you work
  • Strong pension & life assurance
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Green travel perks (EV scheme, cycle‑to‑work)
  • Professional development support
  • Yearly wellbeing allowance
