At Fisher German, we understand how important your 12-month industry placement is, not just for your degree, but for your future career. That's why our placement year is designed to give you real responsibility, hands-on experience and a genuine insight into life as a surveyor.
You'll receive the same outstanding training and support as our graduate surveyors, including access to our Early Careers training and development days. Plus, your placement year could contribute towards your APC journey and provide a valuable head start towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
Our Year Placement roles are predominantly based within our Infrastructure Services Division, where you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that help shape and maintain the UK's essential infrastructure networks.
Our work ranges from small-scale maintenance and refurbishment schemes to securing land rights for nationally significant infrastructure projects involving hundreds of landowners.
From day one, you'll play an active role in supporting projects across the water, electricity, gas and hydrogen sectors. Working alongside experienced surveyors, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of activities, including stakeholder engagement, land referencing, negotiating access, securing consents and supporting compensation and land rights agreements.
No two days are the same. Your work will support both existing and future infrastructure networks, from maintaining essential assets to helping deliver major projects on a national scale. In doing so, you'll contribute to projects that provide communities with access to water, energy and other vital services, while supporting the UK's transition towards a more sustainable future.
