Overview
Forth Ports – HSEQ Advisor – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract - Leith
Eden Scott are pleased to be working with Forth Ports to appoint a further HSEQ Advisor into the team. This position is offered on a rotational basis from the Port of Leith.
ResponsibilitiesThe HSEQ Advisor is responsible for assisting day to day site operations and to support with wider HSEQ team to meet regulatory requirements, policies, standards and procedures.
Project Support:
- Responsible for supporting and assisting in the delivery of our project to achieve compliance with project goals, company standards and statutory responsibilities.
Deliverable Production:
- Assist in producing critical project documentation such as Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and engineering calculations.
- Review of contractor RAMS and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance, with the CDM Regulations, Client duties.
- Support the preparation of formal HSEQ reports, i.e. Accident Investigation, High Potential/Near Hits, Internal audit reports and daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly and yearly HSE reports. Lead incident investigation where required.
Business Engagement:
- Gain exposure to all aspects of the Forth Projects business including operations, tendering and engineering functions to support self-development.
- Support the Head of Operations with assigned tasks to streamline processes and achieve project objectives.
Stakeholder
Collaboration:- Work closely with internal teams to meet tendering and delivery goals.
- Assist in building effective working relationships with external stakeholders including clients and contractors.
- Essential NEBOSH / IOSH qualification in Health & Safety
- Basic understanding of producing RAMS and HSEQ processes.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- This role may involve occasional travel to other project sites or stakeholder locations, so a driving licence is essential. The Forth Projects team is based in Dundee so frequent travel between the Ports of Leith and Dundee will be required.
- The HSEQ Advisor will be required to work a 2 week on, 2 week off, 12 hour shift roster, during project execution phase of the project.
- Rotation of 2 weeks on / off - 2 weeks days or nights / 2 weeks off / 2 weeks days or nights
- The company’s holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December. All holidays are included within the 2 week / 2 week off roster.
- DC Pension scheme – up to 16.5% combined contribution
