Network Services Engineer

Insight Global are seeking a Network Services Engineer for a leading Aerospace & Space Systems client working on a secure satellite‑based QKD programme.

This position requires 5 days onsite on a long‑term contract through to 2027 (Inside IR35).

The engineer will support the design of secure service‑level network architecture, requirements development, test planning, and ESA‑aligned documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineering teams to ensure mission readiness and compliance with regulated space‑programme standards.

Must‑Have Requirements Include:

• Strong experience designing secure network or service architectures in complex or mission‑critical environments.
• Background with IPsec/SSL VPNs, secure connectivity, redundancy and failover.
• Experience writing requirements, test plans or contributing to structured design reviews.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams and lead technical work streams.
• Strong documentation skills aligned to compliance‑driven frameworks.

Plusses Include:

• Familiarity with satellite communications, quantum technologies, QKD or space‑system environments.
• Experience working within highly regulated engineering programmes.
