Reporting directly to the Senior Design Engineer, the successful candidate will be play a significant role in the development, refinement, and scaling of Metacarpal's product ecosystem. This is a hands-on position, working on a 3 year product roadmap. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality and users to continuously improve performance, reliability, and usability, while designing within a regulated medical-device environment.

Responsibilities:
Contribute and lead major design projects and sub-assemblies Translate production feedback and real-world user feedback into robust, practical design improvements Engage directly with prosthetic users and clinical customers to understand needs and define improvement opportunities Design, document, and maintain products in compliance with ISO 13485 and medical-device best practices Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are clearly communicated, manufacturable, and consistently produced to specification Support design verification, validation, and testing activities across prototypes and production units Contribute to forward planning of Metacarpal's product roadmap, ensuring designs consider future generations, compatibility, and ecosystem growth Participate in supplier engagement and, in time, international travel to support manufacturing and supply-chain development Experience
Required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a closely related discipline Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering design role Experience designing within a regulated or quality-controlled environment Proficiency with CAD software - Solid Works preferred, however not required What is on offer :
