# Resident Civil Engineer Location Heysham
** Resident Civil Engineer – Substation Project -  Isle of Skye, Scotland
** We are recruiting for a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of a new build substation project in the Isle of Skye, forming part of a major UK grid infrastructure upgrade.
This is a site-based role focused on supervising and coordinating civil works during construction. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme requirements.

* * Site-Based
* Full time contract role for a duration of approximately 3 years
* Competitive Day Rate (CIS/PAYE)
* 11 on, 3 off day shifts
* Accommodation Provided

* Key responsibilities:

*
* * Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities on site
* Monitor groundworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, drainage and ducting works
* Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications
* Review method statements and ITPs
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks
* Coordinate subcontractors and interface with electrical and structural teams
* Support temporary works coordination where required
* Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and site safety standards
* Track progress and report risks or delays

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience delivering civil works on infrastructure, substation or energy projects
* Strong understanding of groundworks, RC structures and substation civils (desirable)
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Experience supervising subcontractors on live construction sites
* Knowledge of CDM regulations
* TWC experience
