HYDROCARBON ACCOUNTANT

19 Month PAYE contract based in Aberdeen

Start - Asap

5 days in the week working pattern

Summer Fridays - Compressed working week option in the Summer.

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Hydrocarbon Accountant, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake the daily allocation processes and associated reporting requirements for all company assets.
  • Undertake the monthly allocation processes required by the Forties and Brent system.
  • Liaise with the company Finance Team in calculating and implementing production adjustments.
  • Help monitor performance of offshore metering stations and assist in the co‑ordination of compliance activities with respect to fiscal metering.
  • Monitor terminal allocations and report anomalies.
  • Monitor company pipeline and terminal stock.
  • Operational management of company's UK oil sales contracts.
  • Monitor necessary repairs and maintenance to metering equipment.
  • Provide input into tenders and monitoring of contracts, budgets and budgetary control.
  • The position may be required to coordinate subcontractor activity.
  • Cover all HCA responsibilities in case of staff absence (vacations etc.).
  • Attendance at partner, third party and NSTA meetings as required.
  • Visits to pipeline terminals as required.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience of oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in metering and measurement.
  • Knowledge of hydrocarbon allocation systems.
  • Experience of North Sea shipping operations.
  • Computer literate, expert in Microsoft packages.
  • Competent in presentation and database systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon allocation systems, terminal and pipeline hydrocarbon accounts.
  • Understanding of commercial and financial principles, and ability to view issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value.
  • Able to amend, develop and maintain Hydrocarbon Accounting procedures.
  • Able to liaise with all levels of the organisation in order to disseminate information and resolve measurement issues.
  • Able to liaise with other disciplines in order to ensure the successful implementation of new or amended metering solutions.
  • Ability to liaise / correspond with external parties to resolve hydrocarbon accounting issues.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Pro‑active.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Able to supervise work of Technical Assistants when required.
  • Supervision of ad hoc subcontract support personnel.
  • Ability to set up and monitor timescales and plans.
  • Graduate or professional qualification in engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Industry experience essential.
  • Experience in a similar position preferred.
