Freelance Site Engineer - Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

We are currently recruiting an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a major long-term infrastructure project. Our client is an established and reputable civil engineering contractor, recognized for successfully delivering technically demanding groundworks and reinforced concrete projects nationwide. With a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer with a solid background in large-scale infrastructure and civil packages.
The RoleAs Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile infrastructure project. The works involve extensive groundworks, reinforced concrete structures, and associated civil engineering elements within a technically demanding environment. You will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and supporting the site team to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements.
This role will involve close coordination with site management, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Setting out for a range of civil engineering and concrete works.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications.
- Maintaining high standards of quality assurance and documentation.
- Supporting site management with daily operations and progress tracking.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and site teams.
- Upholding strict health & safety standards on site.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in groundworks and reinforced concrete.
- Experience using Leica TS16 for setting out.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.
