Our Climate and Sustainability business is a leader in Carbon Management for major infrastructure and development. We work with a wide range of public and private organisations to transform the way they plan and deliver projects, achieving more sustainable outcomes.

We support major rail projects across the UK, including Trans Pennine Route Upgrade and Northern Powerhouse Rail, embedding carbon management into design, procurement and construction. We also assist with consenting processes under EIA and DCO regimes and link our work to wider environmental and social appraisal.

We are looking for a Senior Consultant in carbon management and assessment to develop Net Zero strategies, sustainability supply‑chain management and environmental impact assessment for major infrastructure projects and other developments.

• Undertake carbon assessments and provide advice on decarbonisation.
• Run carbon workshops with developers and design teams.
• Conduct whole‑life carbon assessment for a range of infrastructure and energy projects.
• Review and critique others’ carbon modelling.
• Reinforce advice on carbon management to external and internal clients.
• Support the team in business development activities, including preparation of expressions of interest and proposals, networking and client engagement.

• Bachelor or master’s qualification in a relevant field such as Carbon and/or Climate Change Management, Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Environmental Engineering, Geography or Environmental Science.
• Appropriate chartership or progress towards chartership – e.g. Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv, CEng) desirable.
• Knowledge of carbon assessment and modelling, including development of mitigation strategies.
• Appreciation of UK and/or devolved administration policy and regulatory framework for carbon and climate.
