Senior Electrical Engineer – Substations & Power Systems

Are you an Electrical Engineer passionate about power systems, HV substations, and the transition to Net Zero?

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing Power & Energy team delivering major transmission & distribution projects across the UK and internationally. You’ll work with leading clients including National Grid and SSEN Transmission on projects ranging from FEED through to Detailed Design.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a technical leadership role within a collaborative engineering environment while contributing to the future of sustainable energy infrastructure.

• Leading FEED and Detailed Design activities for HV substation projects
• Reviewing primary plant design deliverables including layouts, earthing, interlocking, and HV busbar calculations
• Supporting bids, tenders, and project delivery activities
• Building strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Participating in design reviews, hazard reviews, and site visits

• Experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Primary Plant / Substation Design
• HV experience (up to 400kV desirable but not essential)
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, or similar
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Passion for innovation, sustainability, and professional development
