Location: City of Edinburgh

Position Summary

SLR Consulting is a leading global environmental and sustainability consultancy with over 100 offices worldwide. The Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant will work in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office and will be part of the growing Land Quality and Remediation team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver projects to a high standard, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team and its outputs.
  • Design and manage ground investigation and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare interpretative reports, including Preliminary Risk Assessments and Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical Assessments.
  • Produce Remediation Strategies and supervise and validate remedial works.
  • Collaborate closely with senior team members and technical specialists across disciplines.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • MSc is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with Soil/Rock logging to BS5930.
  • Knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation, planning guidance and relevant guidelines.
  • Experience designing, supervising and managing Geo-Environmental site investigations.
  • Experience in land contamination assessment (soil, water, ground gas, DQRA).
  • Experience contributing to remedial options appraisals, remedial designs, specifications and validation reports.
  • Experience preparing fee proposals for Geo-Environmental projects.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Chartered status or progress towards chartership through a professional institution.
  • Full UK driving licence.
