Senior Firmware Engineer; L

Position Overview

Candidates will be responsible for the architecture, design and verification of FPGA sub-systems within Lumacron’s flagship network monitoring products. The role is multi-disciplinary and includes development of FPGA IP Cores, full FPGA System-on-Chip RTL designs and verification test benches. Senior roles may include mentoring of less experienced colleagues.

• Experience of the following;
• Designing FPGA architectures from a technical specification
• Design with Xilinx and Intel FPGA and CPLD devices
• Implementing high speed, multi-frequency clocking architectures
• Designing (code entry to timing analysis) using Intel and/or Xilinx FPGA tool sets
• Designing for high-speed optical interfaces
• Designing for high-speed SERDES interfaces (up to 28G)
• Knowledge of revision control systems; CVS, Subversion, GIT or similar
• Ability to work to tight timescales, individually and collaboratively
• Qualified to degree level in electronic engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience of designing FPGA IP cores or sub-systems

• Experience developing software / embedded software for FPGA-based hardware systems
• Specific experience of Telecommunication/Data Communication hardware products
• Knowledge of Telecoms Framing and Packet structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH, Ethernet)
