Principal Environmental Impact Assessment Planner
Location: Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Leeds
We are seeking a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Planner to join our Environment team based in the north. The role involves managing and coordinating EIA projects across various development types, preparing Environmental Statements, screening and scoping requests, and ensuring project schedules and budgets are met.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review Environmental Statements, screening and scoping requests, and specialist chapters of EIA documents.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project activities across sectors such as residential, commercial, and energy.
- Keep projects on schedule and within budget, liaise with clients, local planning authorities, and statutory bodies.
- Audit topic‑specific EIA disciplines and maintain a strong portfolio of EIA experience.
- Prepare and manage TCPA applications and support appeals where required.
- Work on NSIP, DCO and DNS projects, including renewable energy projects.
- Strong track record in EIA project management, co‑ordination and leading large projects across all sectors.
- Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, writing and editing screening and scoping requests.
- Experience with UK EIA legislation, UK planning system and best practice guidance.
- A strong portfolio of EIA experience and proven TCPA application experience.
- Experience in NSIP, DCO and DNS projects, renewable energy projects desirable.
