Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy?
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established team in Edinburgh. You will play a key role in delivering major infrastructure, transportation, energy, commercial, and residential projects across Scotland and the wider UK.
This position offers the chance to lead technically challenging projects, mentor junior engineers, and work alongside industry-leading professionals within a collaborative and innovative environment.
The Role
Leading geotechnical design on a variety of complex projects.
Managing and delivering geotechnical investigations from tender stage through to completion.
Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative reports and design calculations.
Providing technical expertise on foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, earthworks, and ground improvement schemes.
Managing project budgets, programmes, and client relationships.
Mentoring and developing graduate and junior engineers.
Supporting business development activities and contributing to project bids and proposals.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering.
MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
Significant consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering.
Strong technical background in geotechnical design and interpretation.
Experience managing projects and liaising directly with clients.
Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society) or working towards chartership.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
