FPGA Engineer

Our client, a prominent name in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a contract FPGA Engineer to join their esteemed team. This role is centred in the Surveillance Sector, where you will play a crucial part in developing firmware and working on FPGAs that support both proven surveillance radar systems and breakthrough next-generation technologies.

• Developing high-performance firmware for critical surveillance radar solutions like Osprey and Seaspray
• Engaging in requirement capture, architecture definition, design maturation, integration, and qualification support of next-generation surveillance radars
• Analysing system-level requirements and capturing/deriving detailed firmware requirements
• Utilising technical expertise in firmware design techniques and tools, from VHDL to place-and-route
• Specifying timing and area constraints for efficient FPGA place-and-route
• Integrating and debugging complex systems where firmware interacts with hardware and software
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills in firmware development

• Degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related field
