About

The Role

Working as part of a friendly and collaborative team, with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers, you will solve engineering problems and support the development of designs across water-sector projects. Your day-to-day work may include engineering calculations, design development, drawings, technical reports, presentations and site visits. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Scottish Water framework projects across water and wastewater treatment, storm overflows, flood alleviation and urban drainage.

  • Using design software and tools to carry out engineering calculations and support design development.
  • Producing drawings, technical reports and presentations for project teams and clients.
  • Taking opportunities to undertake site visits and build practical understanding of project delivery.
  • Developing your technical capability through project work, mentoring, the graduate development programme and the local Developing Professionals Group.

We are committed to supporting employees in achieving relevant professional qualifications and accreditation. You’ll be given dedicated mentoring to support you in your journey to Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, or CIWEM where appropriate.
