This exciting project involves the design and construction of a new high-voltage substation in Sutherland, together with associated civil engineering, electrical infrastructure and grid connection works. Working at the heart of the project team, you'll coordinate complex interfaces across multiple contractors, disciplines and stakeholders, helping to ensure safe, efficient and successful project delivery.

As part of SSEN Transmission's growing investment programme, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that are critical to delivering the UK's net zero ambitions, whilst developing your career within one of the largest infrastructure investment programmes in the country. The scale of our portfolio continues to grow, creating exciting opportunities for development and progression.

You will

  • Take ownership of the project's interface management arrangements, working closely with contractors, designers and stakeholders to maintain alignment and support successful delivery.
  • Proactively identify and resolve interface issues that could impact programme, cost, safety or quality, supporting timely decision-making and minimising project risk.
  • Support the management and reporting of project risks and opportunities, working collaboratively with project teams to develop practical mitigation measures.
  • Contribute to project governance activities and support the successful delivery of a nationally significant infrastructure project that will help strengthen Scotland's electricity network.
You have
  • Experience delivering complex engineering, construction, utilities or infrastructure projects, including coordinating activities across multiple contractors, stakeholders or work packages.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and project delivery within a regulated environment, including knowledge of CDM Regulations. A project management qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience identifying and managing project risks, resolving interface challenges and supporting the successful delivery of projects to programme and budget.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • An understanding of project controls, contract management and integrated delivery program
