An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer
- Electrical & Instrumentation - to join our Major Projects Team in Scotland.
Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you will play a key role in delivering major gas infrastructure projects, including transmission pipelines and above-ground installations. You'll be supported through ongoing development and training, providing opportunities to expand your skills and progress your career within SGN.
This role is focused on the successful delivery of major capital projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.

· You will contribute to the delivery of major projects across the project lifecycle
· Project delivery from concept development through to construction and commissioning.
· Supporting feasibility studies, option assessments, conceptual design and detailed engineering design activities.
· Managing project scope, programme, cost and risk to ensure successful project outcomes.
· Coordinating project activities and ensuring effective interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors and stakeholders.
· Supporting procurement, contractor management and construction delivery activities.
· Monitoring construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
· Ensuring compliance with SGN policies, engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
· Promoting and embedding SGN's safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.
· Contributing to project schedules, progress reporting and performance monitoring.
· Preparing, reviewing and coordinating technical documentation, reports and project records.
· Engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
· Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and the sharing of lessons learned across projects.
· Using engineering and project management systems and software to manage project information and deliverables.
· Supporting project teams in identifying innovative and efficient solutions to engineering challenges.
What you will need
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated engineer who can work collaboratively within a project environment while also taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
· A recognised engineering qualification and experience within an engineering, construction, utilities, energy, industrial or process environment.
· Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
· Experience supporting or delivering engineering and construction projects.
· Understanding of project delivery principles including scope, programme, cost and risk management.
· Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems within industrial or infrastructure environments.
