Senior - Associate Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £44,000–£65,000 DOE

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer / Associate to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

This is a newly created position due to continued workload and business growth, offering an experienced Electrical Engineer the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, lead projects and support the development of junior members of the team.

The role is ideally based from Edinburgh, although Glasgow-based candidates will also be considered. There will be an expectation for candidates based outside Edinburgh to travel to the Edinburgh office as required, particularly to support the wider team and maintain strong client relationships.

The Role

You will be involved in the delivery of a varied portfolio of building services projects, taking a lead role across technically challenging schemes while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the electrical design and delivery of complex building services projects
• Managing projects from inception through to completion
• Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
• Managing projects across a range of values and sectors
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers
• Mentoring and developing less experienced members of the team
• Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Supporting the wider team with technical and project delivery expertise
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the electrical team

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Approximately 8–10 years' building services experience
• Strong electrical engineering and building services experience
• Experience delivering and leading complex projects
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• A proven track record across projects of varying sizes and values
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
• Experience with in education and/or healthcare projects would be advantageous
• Ideally operating at Senior Engineer level, although candidates ready to step into an Associate position will also be considered
• Strong communication, technical and client-facing skills

A degree is not essential for this position. Relevant technical experience, project delivery capability and leadership skills will be given greater consideration.
