- Write hydrology Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters and associated technical appendices
- Conduct Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystems (GWDTE) risk assessments
- Conduct private water supply risk assessments
- Prepare Watercourse Crossing Inventories
- Prepare Water Quality Monitoring Reports
- Conduct Water Framework Directive assessments and contribute to WFD screening
- Carry out site walkovers, water quality monitoring, and private water supply surveys
- Support scoping and baseline data collection for surface water and groundwater
- Liaise with ecologists, hydrologists, hydro geologists, and engineers to integrate water considerations into project design
- Apply best-practice mitigation measures
- Prepare clear, defensible documentation for planning and permitting processes
- Mentor junior colleagues and support their field survey work
- Take ownership of technical deliverables and develop client-facing skills
- Degree in a relevant subject
- Experience in EIA water chapters and associated technical studies
- Familiarity with UK water legislation, WFD compliance, and private water supply regulations/guidance
- Demonstrated experience in renewables projects, including onshore wind and associated infrastructure, solar, and hydrogen
- Knowledge of planning and environmental requirements
- Strong report writing and data interpretation skills
- Ability to manage tasks independently and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to mentor junior staff
- Experience using GIS (Arc Pro) for spatial analysis, mapping, surface water modelling, and field survey data collection
- Experience with data analysis and visualisation using Excel
- Experience with MS Office Suite and Share Point
- Regular fieldwork, including site walkovers, water quality monitoring, and private water supply surveys
- 4x4 experience desirable
- Experience writing flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling desirable
- Experience with hydrological modelling tools such as FEH, HEC-RAS, or Flood Modeller desirable
Demonstrates expertise in writing Environmental Impact Assessment chapters, conducting risk assessments, and preparing technical reports related to hydrology and water quality. Proficient in GIS for spatial analysis and experienced in mentoring junior staff while managing multiple projects independently.
