Salary: 42,000 – 50,000
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, privately owned multidisciplinary engineering consultancy for a Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its team in Edinburgh.
With a strong UK presence and expertise spanning civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, transportation and water engineering, the company delivers innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions across a diverse project portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a collaborative team with strong opportunities for professional development and career progression.
As a Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer, you’ll work across both ground investigation and design, including planning and managing investigations, interpreting geotechnical data, developing ground models and producing technical reports. You’ll also undertake geotechnical analysis and design covering foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, settlement and slope stability, while supporting junior staff and contributing to project delivery.

The Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer will ideally have:
Strong UK consultancy experience across investigation and designA degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology Chartered or working towards chartership
Experience with relevant geotechnical modelling software
Excellent communication and project management skillsA full clean driving licence
