Matthew Bourne's New Adventures are seeking a Tech Swing (LX/Sound) for their upcoming production of Cinderella. As Tech Swing, you will have responsibilities that range from assisting on the production with sound and operating lighting.

Role: Tech Swing (LX/Sound)

Contract: Fixed term, touring

Contract Dates: Starts W/C 09 November 2026 with tech at Plymouth Theatre Royal. The first public performance is scheduled to be on Monday 16 November and the contract will terminate following the final performance in Edinburgh on Saturday 8 May 2027.

Weekly Salary
: £894.27

Allowances: We follow the Equity / CTA rate for living away allowance which is currently £350 per week for accommodation for each touring week (including any London performance weeks) that is more than 25 miles from your home address. This rate is due to be increased but we are yet to receive that from Equity so we will inform you when we have that information.

Subsistence: As above, the Equity / CTA rate is currently 65% of the Living Away Allowance for each week of rehearsals if you live outside London and can't commute.

You will undertake the role of Technical Swing with a lighting and sound bias. As Tech Swing, you will have responsibilities that range from assisting on the production with sound (to include operating the recorded version, only if skill levels are high enough) and operating lighting. You will work with sound and then lighting respectively on the get outs and helping to manage local crew where required as well as overseeing the loading/unloading of trailers where necessary.

• Assisting the touring Head of Sound and touring Head of Lighting with getting the show ready and to assist with maintenance and rehearsals as required.
• To assist Sound and Lighting (in that order) on the load outs.
• Assist with rig checks where required.
• To work with the local crew with the safe rigging/de-rigging of relevant equipment.
• Deputise for the tour Head of Sound to allow for days off in case of sickness.
• To aid the sound and lighting departments with the truck packs.
• To learn and be confident to cover show plots for Sound & LX.
• Assisting with the maintenance of all relevant equipment and ensure it is in a safe and working order.
• Attend rehearsals if required.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines of the company.

• Confident and adaptable individual with experience working with sound / lighting departments.
• Confident in working busy touring environments.
• Good knowledge and practical experience of sound/lighting equipment.
• Ability to learn and retain technical cues, plots and show tracks quickly.
• Confident working independently while also being a strong team player.
• Touring experience is desirable.
