About the Advisory & Consulting TeamWe are an award‑winning, entrepreneurial group of 800 experts across six business units:
Deals & Financing, Financial Services Consulting, Consulting, Infrastructure Finance, Forensics & Completion, and Restructuring & Insolvency.
The Actuarial team is part of the Insurance Risk Consulting department. We provide reserving, capital management, Solvency II assessment and IFRS 17 compliance for general and life insurance clients.
The RoleGraduates will gain expertise in reserving, data analytics and regulatory reporting, alongside key consulting skills. You’ll work with some of the world’s leading insurers, including LSE‑listed and Lloyd’s books.
Key Responsibilities- Perform independent calculations to estimate reserves for different classes of insurance
- Test claims data to challenge management on trends in large and unusual movements
- Review methodology and assumptions selected by management in reserve calculations
- Create independent cash‑flow models for life‑insurance products and review assumptions (lapse, mortality, longevity, morbidity, discount rates)
- Prepare technical reports and non‑technical presentations for non‑actuaries
- Develop client relationships through meetings and social activities
- On track to obtain a 2.1 or above in a relevant degree (Maths, Physics, Economics, Engineering, or Actuarial Science)
- ‘A’ in A‑Level Mathematics or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent time management and organisational ability
- Commitment to professional development (IFoA, Level 7 apprenticeship)
- Willingness to travel and adapt to a hybrid work model
- Positive “can‑do” attitude and respect for diversity and integrity
Full‑time professional qualification:
Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Additional Level 7 apprenticeship. Coaching, mentorship, one‑on‑one guidance.
