RoleThe Intercompany & Project Accountant will work closely with finance teams across the organisation, engaging with colleagues internationally and supporting both operational accounting and project‑related financial activity. This role is well‑suited to an ambitious accountant who enjoys detailed transactional work, reconciliations, project support, and process enhancement.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be involved in, but not limited to, the following duties:
Intercompany Accounting- Process intercompany transactions and ensure accurate recording in the general ledger.
- Prepare and issue intercompany invoices in line with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations of intercompany balances, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with international finance teams to facilitate transactions and ensure accurate reporting.
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements by ensuring intercompany activity is correctly reflected.
- Ensure all intercompany activity complies with internal controls, accounting standards (including GAAP and FRS 102) and audit requirements.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation, explanations and reconciliations relating to intercompany accounts.
- Support project managers and operational teams by providing financial insights for ongoing projects.
- Track project expenditure, monitor progress, and support project decisions with robust financial data.
- Maintain accurate financial records for projects, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve intercompany and project accounting processes.
- Support enhancements to finance systems and reporting tools.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and documentation across all areas of responsibility.
Essential
- Be a Qualified Accountant (ICAS / ACCA / CIMA), finalist, or QBE with strong relevant experience.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Have experience managing project financials, including tracking cost, progress and delivery.
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with non‑financial stakeholders.
- Show exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills and accuracy.
- Be confident using financial systems and advanced Excel.
- Experience working in large or international environments.
- Exposure to cross‑entity accounting, consolidation or multi‑currency environments.
