We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join a mid tier accountancy corporate tax team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of Scottish corporate clients, lead client relationships, and play a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, team leadership skills, and a proactive approach to client service.
Key Responsibilities Client Delivery & Advisory- Manage a portfolio of UK corporate tax clients across a range of sectors
- Oversee and review corporate tax computations and returns
- Act as the main point of contact for clients on corporate tax matters
- Provide advisory support on issues such as:
- Group structuring and reorganisations
- R&D tax relief
- Loss utilisation and tax efficiencies
- Support partners on more complex advisory and project-based work
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of corporate tax compliance work
- Maintain high technical and ethical standards in line with firm policies and HMRC requirements
- Identify and manage tax risks for clients
- Manage, mentor, and develop junior members of the corporate tax team
- Review work prepared by assistants and seniors, providing constructive feedback
- Support resource planning and workflow management
- Assist partners with proposals, pitches, and client meetings
- Identify opportunities for additional services within the existing client base
- Contribute to the growth of the corporate tax offering
- CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong UK corporate tax experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
- Proven experience managing a corporate tax client portfolio
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial mindset with an interest in business development
