iMultiply are supporting Working Rite, a fast-growing charity across Scotland, to recruit a Finance Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on and strategic finance professional to join a mission‑driven organisation during a period of exciting growth.

About Working Rite

Working Rite empowers young people aged 15-25 to create positive choices for what comes next after school. By building connections with employers and supporting young people to develop skills, confidence, and long‑term employability, Working Rite helps break cycles of deprivation and poverty across communities in Scotland. Over the past two years, the charity has grown from 16 to 27 staff and increased turnover from £1M to nearly £1.5M, with ambitious plans for continued expansion.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Finance Committee, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the charity’s financial sustainability and supporting its growth. You will lead on strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, while also overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations. This role offers the perfect balance of hands‑on financial management and strategic leadership, with a clear pathway to Head of Finance as the charity continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting to support the CEO, Leadership Team, and Trustees
  • Ensure robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and successful audit delivery
  • Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, including payroll, supplier payments, trainee payments, and cashflow management
  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to operational managers and the wider team, supporting decision‑making with clear financial insight
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and scenario modelling for growth planning
  • Monitor project budgets and funding streams, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, including admin assistants responsible for transactional finance tasks
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledger reconciliations, asset registers, and intercompany transactions
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automate processes, and implement new finance systems and technologies
  • Support the development of cost‑effective service delivery models and advise on procurement or contract negotiations
  • Prepare high‑quality financial information for funding applications, tenders, and statutory reporting
You will bring:
  • Experience in operational and management accounting, including audits and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of charity finances and funding environments
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple budgets, implement financial controls, and support strategic decision‑making
  • Experience of payroll, reporting, and cashflow management
  • Charity sector experience
  • Experience developing full cost recovery models
  • Knowledge of VAT in the charity sector
