Are you a detail-driven Finance Manager looking for a flexible 34-hour workweek and the chance to shape financial strategy?

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple UK group companies
  • Oversee monthly payroll for 60+ employees, including pension administration
  • Manage an Accounts Administrator, overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities and supplier payment runs
  • Deliver regular financial reporting, including KPIs, cash flow management, and business analytics
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns and assist in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Implement effective cash flow management and reporting
  • Establish and maintain accounting controls, systems, and processes
  • Assist with stock control, customs queries, and process improvements
  • Examine financial reports to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Lead annual audit preparations and produce statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
  • Prepare R&D tax claims
  • Act as the main point of contact for banking and financial compliance matters
  • Collaborate with the management team to drive efficiencies and financial improvements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial operations
  • Strong understanding of core accounting processes, data analysis, and forecasting methods
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience with in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Experienced user of Sage or similar
