Location: City of Edinburgh

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented Finance Assistant who enjoys combining finance operations with customer interaction. You’ll support a busy credit control and finance function, helping to ensure smooth transactional processes while enhancing the overall customer journey.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a dynamic finance team where you will support a range of accounts receivable and administrative processes. This is a varied role with exposure across customer onboarding, query resolution, and transactional finance, offering excellent development potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completing welcome calls to new customers, enhancing their onboarding experience
  • Managing customer queries via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Liaising with internal teams to resolve invoice and transactional queries
  • Processing bank receipts and supporting sales ledger activities
  • Reconciling customer accounts, including proforma accounts
  • Supporting month-end processes and timelines
  • Producing copy invoices and generating reports
  • Taking card payments and handling related administration
  • Assisting with insolvency claim processes
  • Distributing queries for escalation where required
  • Supporting customer account onboarding and maintenance processes
  • Collaborating with AR and AP teams to resolve queries efficiently
  • Contributing to process improvements within credit control administration
  • Ensuring adherence to SLAs across business units
  • Providing administrative support for operational changes within credit control
What You’ll Bring
  • Previous experience in a customer-focused environment, ideally within finance or credit control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and Outlook (D365 experience advantageous)
  • Excellent customer service mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude
