London: £66,600-£88,600 per annum (based on skills and experience)
We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. SPC oversees firms and individuals, creates and reviews rules, and addresses competition. The FCA is dedicating resources to better understand market functioning in real time and how market‑wide risks build up over time.
We seek candidates with analytical and practical understanding of financial markets and risk management.
- Develop and implement a monitoring and assessment framework for wholesale market integrity risks (concentrations, leverage and interconnectedness).
- Analyse, assess, and communicate on the materiality of market‑wide risks using risk‑sensitive data and visualisations.
- Develop recommendations to reduce such risks.
- Produce real‑time assessments of the health of market functioning in normal and stress conditions; participate in responses to market events and coordinate with stakeholders to mitigate impacts.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes on wholesale markets.
- Contribute to and oversee preparation of internal and external communications on market integrity and functioning risk assessments.
- Significant experience in fixed income, equity, rates, derivatives or commodities markets.
- Experience producing strong analytical outputs, using data to assess overall risks related to trading strategies or market functioning.
- Proven experience leading projects independently and delivering high‑quality outputs on time.
- Ability to learn new information quickly and independently.
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Clear, authoritative communication skills for presenting to senior audiences and articulating market developments.
- Capability to build and maintain relationships with senior management, other regulators and staff at all levels.
- Strong prioritisation and workload management to deliver key tasks efficiently.
- Collaborative team player, fostering an inclusive environment and contributing positively to collective success.
