This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to take ownership of key financial processes while helping to drive continuous improvement across the wider organisation.

Based in Edinburgh, this is a permanent, office-based position offering a varied workload, genuine responsibility, and the opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive finance team.

The Opportunity

This is a diverse and rewarding finance position, combining core transactional responsibilities with the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and finance systems development. You'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, and supporting the efficient delivery of finance services across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily banking transactions, reconciliations and payment processing.
  • Administer employee expenses, corporate card activity and cash management processes.
  • Support the maintenance and administration of finance systems and platforms.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial reporting and expenditure monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to finance system enhancement projects.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver an effective and responsive finance service.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance position.
  • Good understanding of reconciliations, payment processing and day-to-day finance operations.
  • Confident using finance systems together with strong Excel skills.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • A proactive approach, with an interest in improving processes and identifying efficiencies.

Package Benefits

  • £30,000 - £36,000 depending on experience.
  • 30 days annual leave, plus additional Christmas and Easter closure days.
