People are living longer and we’re excited by the opportunities this brings to help people live their best lives. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it – however grand or humble their ambitions.

We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter:
Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.

We have a new opportunity for a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Oversight team on a permanent part‑time basis, this role is 24 hours per week. The working schedule is flexible and will be agreed with the hiring manager at offer stage.

As our Risk Analyst you will provide objective second‑line challenge and independent oversight of Aegon’s management of risk in processes, products, projects and outsourcing arrangements, ensuring that risks are appropriately reported and escalated in line with the governance framework. You will support the business in fulfilling Risk Management duties and promote a culture of accountability, responsibility and action which is visibly embedded within our business.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • In partnership with local risk management – identify, assess and manage risks and controls, providing specialist oversight and challenge, feedback and guidance to ensure management accountability for and understanding of the risk environment.
  • Ensure dynamic management of risk, taking account of the changing risk profile of the business unit.
  • Act as a risk subject‑matter expert to provide support and guidance to the business in managing risk BAU activity or strategic work.
  • Undertake effective analysis and interpretation of risk MI, challenge the business and provide direction on key areas of risk to focus to ensure risks are managed within defined risk appetite.
  • Embed a strong control culture by undertaking control testing in relation to high‑risk areas of the business.
  • Build relationships and work effectively with the business and the wider Risk function to ensure consistent application of the risk framework and the development of best practice across Aegon.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in the analysis of complex MI data.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate significant technical risk information and translate it into digestible and actionable MI.
  • Planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritise when faced with competing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and available applications to support risk analysis.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and their practical application.
It would also be great, but not essential, if you have:
  • Experience using Power BI, including creating and maintaining dashboards.
What’s in it for you?
  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance.
  • 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro‑rata for part‑time).

The benefits above are based upon a Full Time working pattern and will be pro‑rata for this role.

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental…
