Working Pattern:
Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Assist on the production and development of insightful reporting and MI packs for e.g. Flash, month end and planning rounds.
  • Assist on the production of forecasting and strategic 4-year plans, working closely with our Finance Business Partners to provide the relevant insight and analysis to assist them to have the right conversations with their respective business areas.
  • Review, investigate and challenge material exceptions and provide high quality commentary.
  • Assist in the creation of scenario modelling and analysis for FBPs to support in other ad hoc analysis.
  • Exercising robust controls and review processes to ensure the information provided is of a high standard.
  • Continuously promote and embed a process improvement culture within the team.
  • Build and maintain regular contact and strong working relationships with key partners.
  • Working in the Group Cost & Investment team provides a fantastic opportunity to develop an understanding of the overall Divisional P&L, how this business operates and what influences the financial results, as well as gain exposure across the wider organisation.
  • You’ll primarily be focussing on end-to-end cost management for the Group Functions areas.

What we’re looking for:

Part-qualified finance professional as a minimum, ideally with experience in the financial services sector.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide meaningful insight.

Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to challenge existing processes, identify improvements and drive continuous enhancement of systems, controls and ways of working.

Experience using finance systems and reporting tools, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.

Delivery-focused, with a commitment to producing high-quality outputs whilst meeting demanding deadlines.

Strong collaboration and partner engagement skills, with the ability to support reporting activities and effectively explain financial performance and business drivers.

Any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Exposure to cost management and reporting.
  • Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience of finance systems and related software.
