Job Description Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for Senior Finance Business Partner for Finance BAU. The role manages a team of 3 direct reports, sits within the Group Cost & Investment team and is responsible for partnering the Divisional Finance Directorates, with a total annual spend of c.£240m. This role provides challenge and insight and the need to demonstrate an un-questionable appetite to understand the Divisional Finance areas they support.

Using knowledge of the cost drivers, they clearly and concisely articulate the story behind monthly results to senior customers, drive planning and forecasting activity and provide challenge and analysis to support the accuracy and robustness of the Finance BAU plans.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead Finance Business Partnering activities including but not limited to:
  • Provide high quality partnering support to the Divisional Finance teams day to day.
  • Present Management Reports to senior stakeholders, including the Group Cost & Investment Director, ensuring that results and issues are well understood and explained in a way that is relevant.
  • Identify and assess any risks to the cost profile across Finance BAU and work collaboratively with DFD areas to ensure actions are in place to mitigate.
  • Build solid relationships with the Divisional Finance reps to develop a robust ‘no surprises’ culture.
  • Work with divisional Finance teams in understanding Investment related benefits, with oversight and independent review of SI benefit validation & reporting.
  • Financial governance & oversight including SOX and balance sheet control.
  • Become fully engaged on relevant Signature and Essential Actions.
  • Ensure divisional Finance areas are interlocked on all investment/project benefits.
  • Provide guidance and support to direct reports, identifying development needs through regular check-ins and coaching them to be their best at work.
  • Provide active engagement with the Centre of Excellence to ensure an excellent flow of communication and standards of inputs/outputs.
  • Embed the Lloyds Banking Group culture and vision through visible leadership, being a role model for the Group’s leadership behaviours.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines
  • Deep financial experience, with an understanding of core financial principles and controls, including risk and cost management
  • Strong business partnering capability, with the ability to work constructively with a range of stakeholders across Finance
  • The ability to engage in constructive challenge, both with and from the Business, to support robust decision‑making
  • The ability to apply judgement to resolve issues, escalating when needed and working collaboratively with stakeholders to reach the right outcome for the Group
  • Build effective working relationships across Divisional Finance and Finance Platform teams to support delivery
  • Strong leadership capability, with the ability to prioritise work, provide direction, and support team members in a small team environment
  • Comfortable managing urgent requests and changing priorities, adapting focus as needed while maintaining delivery of core activities
