MOV8 Real Estate, Estate Agents and Solicitors is looking for an experienced and highly organised Finance Officer to join our team.
This is a key hands-on role within our Finance function, supporting the smooth and accurate operation of a busy, growing property and legal business.
You'll take responsibility for a broad range of day-to-day finance activities, working closely with colleagues across the business and playing an important role in ensuring that payments, reconciliations, settlements and financial records are processed accurately and on time.
We're looking for someone who combines strong financial and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail. Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and working collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Our Finance team sits at the heart of the business, supporting both our day-to-day operations and our legal teams with the financial transactions that are critical to successful property settlements.
What You'll Be DoingAs Finance Officer, you'll have responsibility for a varied range of financial activities across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring these are processed accurately and within required timescales.
Processing and monitoring payments, receipts and transfers across business and client accounts.
Supporting the financial aspects of residential property settlements, ensuring funds are available, accurately recorded and processed at the appropriate time.
Completing regular bank, ledger and account reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies promptly.
Processing supplier invoices, payments and other accounts payable activity.
Supporting accounts receivable processes, including monitoring outstanding balances and assisting with credit control where required.
Maintaining accurate financial records across the company's accounting and case management systems.
Liaising closely with our Legal teams regarding settlement funds, fees, payments and other financial matters.
Responding to finance-related queries from colleagues and, where appropriate, clients and third parties.
Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
Supporting the preparation of management information and financial reports.
Ensuring financial processes are completed in accordance with internal controls, regulatory requirements and agreed procedures.
Identifying discrepancies, risks or potential issues and taking ownership of resolving or escalating them.
Supporting the continued development and improvement of Finance processes, controls and systems.
Assisting the wider Finance team and senior management with additional financial analysis and projects as required.
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for important financial processes and understands the need for accuracy, organisation and strong controls.
You’ll ideally have:
Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Legal Cashier or similar finance position.
Strong practical experience of financial administration, payments and reconciliations.
Excellent numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Experience working with accounting or financial management systems.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work accurately to tight deadlines.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The confidence to communicate effectively with colleagues across different areas and levels of a business.
A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues during particularly busy periods.
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information appropriately.
Experience with in a legal, conveyancing, property or professional services environment would be particularly advantageous, although it isn’t essential if you have strong transferable finance experience.
Experience dealing with client money, high-value transactions or solicitor accounting requirements would also be beneficial.
